Hi! I'm Kendall.

I’m happy you’re here because Sofia is personal for me. After experiencing my own challenging birth, I discovered firsthand how overwhelming the postpartum period can be—even with my background in maternal health. Those late-night searches for reliable information, while trying to focus on both my healing and my baby, revealed a critical gap in support for new mothers.

My path here wasn't linear. I'm a forever New Yorker who landed in the Bay Area, but only after exploring the world as a Peace Corps Volunteer and backpacker. Those experiences, combined with my work as a doula and my Masters in Public Health, gave me a unique perspective on how different cultures approach birth and postpartum care—and how universal the need for support really is.

I bring my whole self to this work: the international relations graduate who understands systems thinking, the former talent acquisition professional who knows how to really listen, and the Spanish speaker who can support diverse communities.

That's what Sofia is all about. We're building more than an app—we're creating a space where you can feel heard while building confidence in both your healthcare decisions and yourself. While we can't always control how birth unfolds, we can transform how you emerge from the experience.

When I'm not working on transforming postpartum care, you'll find me on Bay Area trails, on my yoga mat, or lost in a good book (and secretly working on writing one).
